MUSKEGON – Five area baseball players in the Local Sports Journal coverage area earned first-team all-state honors for the recently completed season.

Three other players were named to the second team. The teams were voted on and released by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association.

In Division 2, there were three first-team all-state players.

Zane Stahl, the 6-7 righthander who helped lead the Spring Lake Lakers to a state runner-up finish, earned top honors as a junior. He is a University of Louisville commit.

Whitehall senior infielder Kyle Stratton, who broke the all-time stolen bases record in a career, also was named to the first team. In May, Stratton surpassed former Whitehall star Nate McLouth when he registered his 181st stolen base.

Whitehall senior utility player Ryne Christiansen also was named to the first team.

North Muskegon had two players honored in Division 3, led by star catcher Ben Meyers, whose name appears among the leaders in several categories in MHSAA history. Meyers was a first-team selection. Teammate Ryan Delora, a senior first baseman was a second-team selection.

In Division 4, Muskegon Catholic had a trio of players honored. Junior outfielder Bryan Convertini was a first-team selection.

Fellow Crusaders Croix Klint, a senior infielder, and Dewey Modaff, a senior first baseman, were voted onto the second team.
