ALMA – The Ludington girls’ swimming team went into a double dual meet a bit shorthanded, but came out feeling pretty good about their accomplishments.

Ludington, with just seven healthy swimmers, lost to Mount Pleasant 102-63 and to Cadillac 89-75. The Orioles finished first in six events and second in two other events.

The 200-medley relay team of Madison Bearup, Kylie Hatch, Cora Mahler and Haidyn Larson captured first place. Mahler came back and captured victories in the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly. Bearup took first place in the 100 breast. Reese Willis captured first place in the 200 freestyle. Willis, Larson, Katie Gronstal and Mahler took first in the 200 freestyle relay.
 
Ludington’s 200 freestyle team of Annika Sherman, Hatch, Bearup and Willis took second place as did Bearup in the 50 freestyle.
 
The Orioles swim in Manistee at the Up North Invitational on Saturday.  Diving starts at 9:30 a.m. with swimming and diving finals set for noon.
