MONTAGUE – The Western Michigan Christian volleyball team won both sets in a tri-match on Wednesday.

The Warriors battled and edged out Shelby, 25-20, 13-25, 25-20, and Montague, 24-26, 25-16, 25-20.

“It was an overall good day for us,” said WMC coach Amber Sandin. “The majority of our players are back and healthy again. We had a balanced offense and saw a lot of success with long serve runs.” 

Abby Leffring led the Warriors’ offense with 19 kills, followed by Hannah Heiss with 15 kills. Madie Folkema chipped in 14 kills and Bri Warners had 55 assists.

WMC will be at home on Friday against Oakridge.
