The Spartans built a 12-4 first-quarter lead and outscored the Bulldogs, 17-15, in the second to take a 29-19 lead at the halftime break.
A 21-15 advantage in the third quarter pushed the Spartans’ lead up to 50-34 heading into the fourth quarter.
Cole VanderHaag scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Spartans, including a 10-of-10 performance at the charity stripe and drilled three 3-pointers. He pulled down five rebounds and distributed five assists. Trent Hawke knocked down three 3-pointers, and made some big shots in the paint for 19 points. He claimed six rebounds and dished out two assists.
Dylan May led the Bulldogs with 19 points and Nash Hoffman tossed in 14.
Central improved to 3-4 on the season and 2-1 in the WMC Rivers. The Spartans are scheduled to host Reed City in non-conference action on Monday, Dec. 30.
Ravenna fell to 3-5 on the season and 2-2 in the WMC Rivers. The Bulldogs will next take the court Thursday, Jan. 2 against Hesperia in the conference. That game is at Ravenna.
