The Pentwater boys’ basketball team finished strong and earned a gritty 53-50 victory over Marion on Friday night.
The Falcons trailed 9-7 after the first quarter before taking a 22-18 lead at the half.
Pentwater fell behind 34-33 before closing the game with a 20-16 fourth-quarter run to seal the victory.
Trey Johnson paced the Falcons with 19 points, five rebounds and two steals while Jonny Arnouts added 13 points, six rebounds and four steals.
Mikey Carlson added a near double-double for Pentwater with 13 points and nine rebounds while Kaleb Brown finished with six points and three rebounds.
The Falcons are currently 13-2 on the season and in first place in the West Michigan ‘D’ league with an 8-1 record.
