SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake boys’ basketball rallied from a first-half deficit to capture a 46-41 OK-Black victory over Hamilton on Monday. 

The Lakers found themselves up against the ropes early and they were down 21-9 after the first quarter. The defense perked up in the second quarter, but both teams put up 12 points to keep the Laker deficit at 12 with a 33-21 score at the half.

After the halftime break, Spring Lake refocused and locked down on defense. The Lakers cut into the Hawkeyes’ lead with a 12-3 scoring advantage in the third quarter to trail 36-33 with a quarter left to play.

The momentum carried into the fourth quarter for Spring Lake, as they outscored Hamilton 12-5 to steal the win.

Jaden Core led the Lakers with 15 points and seven rebounds. Reid Grimmer had 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks, while Ethan Lisman made three second-half blocks that ignited the comeback.

Spring Lake (10-6 overall, 4-3 OK-Black) hosts Covenant Christian on Tuesday.
