SCOTTVILLE – Mason County Central swept a non-conference baseball doubleheader with visiting Bear Lake, 6-0 and 7-1 on Friday in Scottville.
Pierce Bladzik got the start in Game 1 and twirled a masterful one-hitter for the win. Bladzik registered 11 strike outs with just three walks.
The Spartans scored one run in the bottom of the third, adding two in the fourth and three in the fifth.
Peyton Merz had two hits and an RBI to lead the Spartans at the plate. Dominic Greco collected three runs batted in with a double and also scored a run. Michael Chye had a hit, drove in a run and scored a run while Kaden Ruiz had a hit and scored a run.
Merz led the Spartans offense in Game 2, with two hits in two trips with two runs scored.
Chye also knocked out two hits and collected two RBI, while Toby Reed had one and drove in two runs and Gideon Sales scored a run.
The Spartans are 3-0 on the season and are scheduled to host Pine River on Monday.
