Shelby, Whitehall battle to 1-all draw in WMC soccer match

SHELBY – The Shelby and Whitehall girls soccer teams opened West Michigan Conference play with a 1-1 draw on Monday evening.

The Vikings’ Izzy Causie found the net just four minutes into the game to account for the only first-half goal.

The Tigers battled in the second half and tied it up when Kylie Hansen found Annie Stark with 13 minutes left to go.

Shelby (0-3-1, 0-0-1) travels to Muskegon Catholic Central on Wednesday.

Whitehall (2-0-1, 0-0-1) will be at Ludington on Wednesday for league action.
