SPRING LAKE – The Spring Lake boys’ swim and dive team won its home invitational for the fifth year in a row with a score of 565 on Saturday.

Holt finished second with a score of 354 and Grand Rapids Christian secured third place with 333.

“This victory was a true test of our team depth and a true team win,” Spring Lake coach Mick Homan said. “The meet gave us a terrific opportunity to see where we are with our training at this early stage of the season.”

Alex Strauss won the 100 fly (56.69) and 100 breast (1:04.48), while Noah Fletcher finished first in the 50 free (22.18) and 500 free (5:07.74). Ryan Fisher captured a win in the 100 free (50.60).

Fisher, Fletcher, Strauss and Graham Porter won the 200 medley relay (1:46.33). Strauss Fisher, Porter and Fletcher came in first in the 400 free relay (3:28.19). Porter also finished runner-up in the 500 free (5:12.19) and Ben Goran came in second place for the 11 dives (250.85). 

“This meet gave me a lot of confidence going into the next when we compete at the D3 Invite against some of the best teams in the state,” Homan said.

Spring Lake will be at Holland Aquatic Center on Saturday for the Division 3 Invitational.
