The Whitehall football team greeted visiting Mason County Central with a 62-0 thrashing on Thursday night in West Michigan Conference play.

Josh Thommen, Terrell Harris and Justin Brown each ran for touchdowns in the first quarter for the Vikings while Quinton Carter recovered a fumble for a touchdown.

Thommen ran his score in from eight yards, Harris struck paydirt from one yard, and Brown’s score covered 50 yards.

Whitehall held a 27-0 lead after one quarter.

Tylor Russell added two rushing touchdowns for the Vikings (19 and 74 yards) while Justin Brown found Jack MacArthur for a 65-yard passing touchdown.

Kyler Honore added a defensive touchdown for Whitehall in the second quarter, and the Vikings led 55-0 at halftime.

The lone second-half score came on a 49-yard rushing touchdown by Kayleb Venema to increase the Vikings’ advantage to 62-0.

Russell led Whitehall with 99 yards and two touchdowns on four carries while Brown had 54 yards and one touchdown on five carries.

Stephen Ganos paced the Viking defense with four tackles, including two for losses.

Whitehall is now 1-1 on the season and will travel to Hart next week, while Mason County Central falls to 0-2 and will host Montague next week.
