Owens Community set the tone early with an early goal and carried that to a 2-0 women’s soccer victory over Muskegon Community College on Saturday.

Kendra Eitnier scored the unassisted goal 2:48 into the game. A late goal in the 82nd minute provided Owens with an insurance goal. Eitnier scored with assistance from Jamie Sesock.

Jayhawk goalkeeper Emily Manchester played a strong game with eight saves.

MCC finished with four shots on goal and came close to scoring twice on corner kicks in the second half.

MCC plays Cincinnati State Tech and CC at 1 p.m. Sunday at Orchard View High School.
