The Hart Pirates scored one goal in the opening half, but that was it, on Friday night.
The Pirates dropped a 2-1 decision to the Leland Comets in a game was wasn’t decided until a sudden death shootout. The game, played at Suttons Bay, was the Division 4 regional title game.
Nick Rombach scored for the Pirates in the first half.
In the shootout, Elk Rapids outscored Hart 6-5 and claimed the one-goal victory.
Leland advances to the state semifinals next week.
