The Muskegon Community College men’s soccer team lost a tough contest Wednesday to Lake Michigan College,  5-3.

Despite gaining a 10-9 shots-on-goal advantage, the Jayhawks allowed five Lake Michigan shots to hit the back of the net.

Scoring for MCC were sophomores Jacob Kring (Whitehall), Keith Kuharevicz (Muskegon Catholic) and freshman Adrian Breseno (Muskegon). Goalkeeper Thomas Swiatek made 10 saves.

The Jayhawks still have hope to reach the playoffs thanks to Cuyahoga’s recent loss. MCC needs to capture two wins this weekend to secure its playoff spot.

Saturday, MCC will play Lakeland at 11 a.m. and then Cuyahoga on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both games will be played at Orchard View High School.
