The Muskegon Community College men’s soccer team spotted Ancilla goal on Sunday before roaring back for a 4-1 victory.

Within the first four minutes of the second half, Tanner Schaap and Eric Hilt both scored a goal. Schaap scored on an assist from Cameron Rogers and Hilt’s header goal was assisted by Zack Sutton.

A direct kick by Cameron Rogers from 22 yards out opened up a 3-1 lead for MCC.

Sutton set up as goal by Nathan Brouard with 22 minutes remaining in the game to complete the scoring.

MCC outshot Ancilla 13-8. Tyler Lane finished with six saves and Patrick Stewart had one.
The Jayhawks finished third in the MCCAA conference and fourth in Region XII.

MCC will host Jackson at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Reeths-Puffer High School in the opening round of the Region XII tournament. The semifinals and finals will be hosted by Grand Haven High School on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s game

Jackson CC 1, Muskegon CC 0: Jackson scored the game’s lone goal with 25 minutes remaining in the game. The Jayhawks had a 10-1 advantage in shots.
