NORTH MUSKEGON – The North Muskegon girls basketball team is 2-0 on the season.

But it’s 2-0 the hard way.

Even throughout Friday night’s contest, and with just under five seconds left in the game, Montague seemed to hold the commanding 32-30 lead. But the Norse’s Anna Osborn nailed the five-foot baseline jumper with three seconds left to knot it at 32-all.

From there, the Norse doubled up the Wildcats 8-4 in the overtime to win in the West Michigan Conference opener for both teams.

“It was a close battle all the way to the end,” said Norse head coach Douglas Clark.

Olivia Duncan led North Muskegon with four points in OT, and teammate Maggie Karaba iced the win with two made free throws with three seconds left.

Duncan finished with a game-high 11 points, with Osborn pouring in 10 points and Abby Clark adding eight points and six rebounds in the win.

Karaba and Keah Brown also grabbed six boards, and Brown dished out three assists.

Hailey Cockerill, Eluyse Taylor and Morgan Shugars all had eight points to lead the balanced Wildcat attack.
