The Reed City Coyotes used a big second quarter to hold off Newaygo 73-58 Tuesday in Central State Activities Association basketball action.
Reed City outscored Newaygo by only three points in the first, third and fourth quarters, but gained its winning margin with a 16-8 edge in the second quarter.
Chad Samuels scored a game high 23 points for Reed City. Kyle Wright and Dakota Queen each had 13 points for Newaygo.
