Kent City held off Hopkins for a 4-3 win in baseball on Wednesday. Kyle Boyd scored the go-ahead run for the Eagles on a delayed steel with two outs in the fifth inning.

The Eagles held off a hot Hopkins fifth inning where the Vikings scored all three of their runs. Kent City also fought off Hopkins in the seventh after letting a pair of runner reach second and third bases.

Jake Krueger went the distance for Kent City in the win. The senior pitcher struck out eight and gave up eight hits and three walks and also had a hit of his own at the plate and scored a run.

Ken City struggled was led by Ben Cebelak with a hit and an RBI, Kyle Boyd had a hit and a run and Luke Scheuneman had a single.
