Muskegon Community College volleyball team drops four matches in Parkland Invitational

The Muskegon Community College volleyball team travelled to the Parkland Invitational in Champaign, Ill. on Saturday and dropped all four of its matches.

The Jayhawks fell to Kirkwood in four games, 25-12, 23-25, 25-21, and 25-20. Illinois Central defeated MCC in five games, 25-17, 20-25, 25-9, 22-25, 15-12. Host Parkland topped MCC in five games, 25-23, 22-25, 25-9, 22-25, 15-12. And Lincoln Land took the fourth match from MCC 25-22, 22-25, 26-25, 25-15.

Leading MCC was Brandi Jones with 58 kills, 54 digs, seven blocks and five aces in the four matches. Meghan Birr had 158 assists with 51 digs and five aces. Lindsey Kotecki had 54 digs and 22 kills while Morgan Kelly had 42 kills.

Autumn Winger added nine aces and Dani Jones had 11 blocks.

MCC is now 9-10 on the season and plays at home on Tuesday against Lansing Community College.
