North Muskegon’s Avery Lowe finished third overall Saturday in the Division 4 Cross Country state finals in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Lowe turned in a time of 19:14. The other Norse runners were Chloe Strach, who finished 20th with a time of 20:18; Corinne Nedeau (161st) with a time of 24:44; Ellie Wilson (170th) at 26:04.1 and Lillian Wilkie-Jones (181st) with a 29:28.

The Hart girls team finished fifth overall in Division 3 with 177 points.

Sierra Albus led the Hart squad with a fifth place finish with a time of 19:01. Jennie Gottardo took 10th overall with a 19:14 time. Alayna Ackley (20th) had a time of 19:44, Maddie Hodges (43rd) ran a 20:27 and Brooke Hodges finished with a time of 21:36.

In Division 2, Whitehall finished ninth overall with 281 points. Maya Hector was the top runner for the Vikings with an eighth place finish in 18:58. Jessica Harris took 11th with a time of 19:01, Avley Hentschel (59th) ran a time of 20:04, Nora Mitteer (66th) completed her run in 20:15 and Lauren Baustert (137th) finished in 21:52.

Spring Lake finished 13th in Division 2 with 319 points. The Lakers were led by a fourth-place finish from Erin O’Keefe, who had a time of 18:35.7. Carlyn Arteaga finished 7th with a time of 18:57, Lacie Piekarski (79th) finished in a time of 20:30, Brittany Dawson (106th) ran a time of 21:00 and Brooke Carrier (123rd) had a time of 21:23.

Grand Haven was the area’s lone Division 1 team  in the finals. The Bucs finished 20th overall with 483 points. The Bucs were led by Malea Teerman (73rd) with a time of 19:47. Hanna Kenny (90th) followed with a 20:02. Eliza Lowe (103rd) finished with a time of 20:11, Renee Borchers (106th) ran a 20:14 and Audrey Boersen (111) had a time of 20:18.

Western Michigan Christian and North Muskegon competed in Division 4. The Warriors finished 20th overall while the Norse ended up 25th.

Josie Ruiter (54th) paced WMC with a time of 21:25. Breunisje Kass-McGrady (57th) finished with a time of 21:31, Emma Brink (79th) had a time of 22:10,  Lauren Myers (138th) ran a  23:34 and Kristina Veurink (139) crossed the finish line in 23:40.

The Norse were led behind Lowe’s finish by Chloe Strach who took 20th with a time of 20:18.4. Corinne Nedeau (161) had a time of 20:18.4, Ellie Wilson (171) crossed the finish line in 26:04.1 and Lillian Wilkie-Jones (181) ran a time of 29:28.8.

Among individual runners, Ludington’s Lauren Biggs finished 80th with a time of 20:01. For Fremont, Brianna Norris finished 94th with a time of 20:14.

Reeths-Puffer’s Maryssa Depies finished 81st with a time of 19:22. Mona Shores’ Jackie Seward finished 104th in a time of 19:45.

Victoria Ross finished 105th with a time of 21:06 for Hesperia in Division 3.

Walkerville’s Emily Merten finished 30th with a time of 20:19 in Division 4. Pentwater eighth-grader Madeline Wagner finished 108th with a time of 21:53.
