The Muskegon Community College volleyball team wrapped up its season with a 25-17 record after competing in the  National Junior College Athletic Association Division II nationalLSJ Logo incert tournament last week in Phoenix, Arizona.

The Jayhawks, seeded 14th in the tournament, lost to third-seeded Johnson County Community College 3-0 in the first round. Set scores were 25-19, 25-14, 25-17.

Jane Kuipers led MCC with nine kills and two blocks, Lindsey Jacobs had 29 assists and two aces and Marissa Hassevoort had 19 digs.

In the second round the Jayhawks lost a close match to 11th seeded Pasco Hernando Community College 3-2. Set scores were 16-25, 25-23, 23-25, 25-21, 11-15.

Leaders for MCC were Rachel Brown (19 kills), Jacobs (47 assists, two aces), Hassevoort (39 digs) and Kuipers (six blocks).
