The Grand Haven football team closed out the football season with a 54-0 victory over Grand Rapids Union on Friday night.

The Buccaneers jumped out to a 21-0 lead after the first quarter, scoring on a 21-yard run by Connor Worthington, a three-yard scamper from Alex Kaufman and a Cam Slootmaker 70-yard rush for a touchdown.

Grand Haven scored two second quarter touchdowns on a three-yard run by quarterback Collin Takas and a 14-yard rush from Owen Krizan.

The Buccaneers led 35-0 at halftime.

Takas added a five-yard run in the third quarter while P.J Moffett ran for a four-yard touchdown in the stanza to give Grand Haven a 47-0 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

The Buccaneers closed out the scoring with the lone fourth quarter score on a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown.

Slootmaker led the Bucs on the ground, rushing for 102 yards on two carries.

Moffett, Austin Broemer, Landon VanBeek, and Bryce Taylor each had two tackles on the night.

The Buccaneers, who finished the season with a 3-6 overall record, rushed for 340 total yards.
