Jake Carlson scores game’s only goal in Mona Shores’ victory over Zeeland East

Jacob Carlson scored the goal and Joey Wolffis posted the shutout in Mona Shores’ 1-0 OK Black soccer victory over Zeeland East on Thursday.

The game was tied until the final 8 minutes of the second half. Christian Zurchauer sent a cross to Carlson, who headed the ball into the net.

From there, Wolffis and the Sailors’ defense preserved the shutout, the team’s nine in 11 games.

Shores (9-1-1, 4-0) outshot the Chix 12-2.

Mona Shores will host Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday in a key OK Black match.
