Reeths-Puffer couldn’t stop host Zeeland East in the paint on Tuesday and fell 75-50.
Zeeland East built a 27-16 halftime lead and tallied 26 fourth-quarter points.
Reeth-Puffer came out hot in the third quarter and scored 18 points, but its defense couldn’t make key stops against Zeeland East.
“Our defensive effort was not there at all,” said Rocket coach Dave Ingles. “We can’t make a run if you can’t make a stop on the defensive end.”
Reeths-Puffer was led by Marques Livers with 14 points and six rebounds. Quinzell Pennell scored 11 points and DeeDee Blake added five points, four assists and three steals.
