Senior John Leonard poured in 31 points to lead the Orchard View Cardinal boys to a 71-55 victory over the Ravenna Bulldogs on Tuesday night.
Leonard also had 13 rebounds and four assists as the Cardinals raised their record 2-17. Keith Melton added 16 points and Brandon Edwards scored 11.
Orchard View used a trap throughout the game, but in the second quarter it was especially effective.
“For some reason, and I don’t know why, we were energized,” Cardinal coach Scott Warsaw said. “We were energized, we got some turnovers and we got even more energized. We just picked it up.”
Kyle VanderWoude led Ravenna with 15 points, followed by Colton Kantola with 14 and Jacob Sied with nine.
