The Muskegon Community College softball team has kicked off the season on a southern trip.
Through the Lady Jayhawks’ first four games, they are 2-2.
 Northeast Mississippi 7, Muskegon CC 2 (6 innings): On Friday, Alyssa Telling had one hit to lead MCC, which led 1-0 after the top of the first inning. Northeast Mississippi answered with two runs in the first and four more in the fourth, thanks to a pair of solo home runs.
Muskegon CC 10, Lincoln Land CC 0 (5 innings): On Saturday, a seven-run fourth inning carried MCC to the victory. The Jayhawks were led by Kim Burleson, who had two hits, drove in a run and scored two. She singled in both the third and fourth innings.  Kaytlin Woziak  allowed one hit, no earned runs and allowed no walks in three innings of work. Taylor Sanicki added an RBI double for the Jayhawks.
Three Rivers CC 7, Muskegon CC 6 (6 innings): Also on Saturday, MCC fell a run short against Three Rivers. Sydney Tharp  had a pair of singles to lead MCC.
Muskegon CC 6, Northwest Mississippi 1 (6 innings): Kelly Barnes had two hits to spark the Lady Jayhawks. Among her hits was a sixth-inning double that plated two runs. Pitcher Megan VanderWal pitched four innings and allowed two hits, no earned runs, two walks and she struck out three. Sanicki had an RBI single.
