The first half was all Reeths-Puffer.

The second half was all Whitehall.

And the overtime belonged to Reeths-Puffer in a 67-57 boys basketball victory over the Whitehall Vikings.

The Rockets led 32-18 at halftime, but the host Vikings outscored the Rockets 37-23 in the second half and forced overtime.

In the extra four minutes, Reeths-Puffer owned a 12-2 scoring advantage.

“In overtime, I will give them credit,” Reeths-Puffer coach Dave Ingles said. “We held them to two points and we actually ran our offense and got the ball swinging side to side.”

Marquese Livers led the Rockets with 18 points and eight rebounds, Andrew Reinecke had 14 points and Jaquan Pennell added 10 points and five rebounds. Kevin Polk had five assists.  Freshman Deandree Oaks-Owens had five steals.

“When we play together at both ends, we’re pretty good,” Ingles said. “We just have to find that switch and do it all the time.”

Isaac Love led Whitehall with 15 points. Matt Russell added 14 points and eight rebounds and Dylan Medendorp had nine points and seven rebounds.
