Fremont advanced to the Class B district championship game with a 68-53 win over Tri-County on Wednesday night.

The Packers will face Sparta (16-5) in the district title game on Friday night at 7 p.m. at Tri-County High School.

Fremont (13-8) led 16-11 after one quarter and 37-26 at the half.

“We shot very well (24-49) our best of the season,” Fremont coach Pete Zerfas said. “But, we left points off the board with only 14-for-30 shooting from the free-throw line.”

Mike Siegel led the Packers with 19 points, six assists and six steals and Dylan Krim added 16 and five assists.

Blake Siersema scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Mike Maclean scored 10 points and had 10 rebounds.

Fremont has won eight of the last 11 district titles.
