Justin Abdelkader scores into empty net for first goal of the season for Detroit Red Wings

Muskegon’s Justin Abdekader notched his first goal of the season on Thursday night as the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 at Joe Louis Arena.

Abdelkader scored into the empty net with 1:10 remaining in the third period. The goal was assisted by Henrik Zetterberg and Damien Brunner. Abdelkader had five shots on goal in the game.

Abdelkader has appeared in all 23 games this season for the Wings (11-8-4).
