Whitehall sweeps Orchard View at district opening match

FRUITPORT – Orchard View was no match for Whitehall Monday night in the district volleyball opener for both teams, with Whitehall sweeping the Cardinals in three sets to advance to Wednesday’s district semifinal match versus host Fruitport.

The Vikings won 25-18, 25-14, 25-10.

Jane Kuipers led Whitehall with 11 kills and three blocks, while Alyssa Myers had 32 assists and seven kills, and Rachel Brown had seven kills and two blocks in the victory.

In the other semifinal match, Spring Lake survived Coopersville in five sets, and now advance to Wednesday’s district semifinal early match versus Oakridge.
