Mason County Central avenged an early season loss to Oakridge on Monday night by earning a 47-38 West Michigan Conference boys basketball win on Monday night.

The Spartans built a 31-15 halftime lead and coasted to the league win.

Johnny Shafer led MCC with 15 points, Kody Ambrose added 11 and Coltyn Tyndall scored 11 points and had four assists.

Tony Curry led Oakridge with 11 points and six rebounds.

“We really came out and defended tonight.  We think Austin Wright is a really nice player, so I was happy that we were able to hold him to eight points tonight, said Mason County Central coach Jeff Tuka. “We are playing really well as a team right now and it shows in the balanced scoring.”
