Jayshonna Blackshire had 28 points, eight rebounds, six assists and four steals to lead the Orchard View girls basketball team to an impressive 63-34 victory over Shelby Friday in non-league action.

The Cardinals, now 4-2 on the season, led 35-12 at halftime.

A’maya Brown added 16 points and eight rebounds for the winners, Cha’nice Dickson had 11 points and A’mari Brown added 10. Chloe Sillman led Shelby with 14 points.

Reeths-Puffer 57, Livonia Ladywood 23 – The Rockets raced to a 23-8 halftime lead and never looked back in the Muskegon Area Sports Hall of Fame contest at Mona Shores High School. The Rockets’ used their pressure defense to come up with 25 steals. Kalisa Williams led Reeths-Puffer (4-1) with 13 points. Camaryia Williams added 12 points, 12 rebounds and eight steals while Brooke Larabee had nine points and 12 boards.

Tri-Unity 44, Muskegon Catholic 30 – The Crusaders fell to Tri-Unity Christian and are now 2-3 on the year. MCC did not report any player statistics.
