The MCC men’s basketball fell on the road 82-63 to Grand Rapids Community College on Friday night. 17-6, 7-5

The Jayhawks struggled in the paint but got a spark from Will Roberson’s 11 first-half points.

“We have seemed to hit the proverbial freshman wall,” said MCC head coach Dave Schlump on his teams’ recent play, “We were not able to control the glass like we normally do or really get out in transition and those two things really hurt us tonight. As a team we are struggling offensively for the first time all year and we can’t let it affect us in other areas like we did tonight.”

Deshawn Sanders led the Jayhawks with 16 points, while Roberson and Marcus Tumblin each added 14 points. Eddie Tornes had 13 points and a team high 7 rebounds.

MCC returns home Wednesday to face Kellogg Community College at 7:30 p.m.
