Oakridge claimed a hard fought 1-0 victory over Whitehall Tuesday in West Michigan Conference soccer action.

Oakridge goalkeeper Micky Wall posted the shutout.

The Eagles improved to 7-0-1 overall and 5-0 in the league. Whitehall suffered its first league loss.

“Whitehall certainly came out to play and they have quality young players,” said Oakridge Coach Jeff Lohman. “For us, we had a hard time finding any rhythm to our play, but the girls battled to get the win.”

North Muskegon 2, Shelby 0Maggie Ackley scored the first goal in the first half at the 28 minute mark, assisted by Katie Roberson. Kelsey Ocharzak scored the second goal in the second half, also at the 28 minute mark. Norse goalkeeper Gus Keur got the shutout. She stopped a penalty kick to keep Shelby off the scoreboard.
