The Mona Shores baseball team fell short of a Division 1 district title on Monday, dropping a heartbreaker to Kenowa Hills 5-4.

Mona Shores, which eliminated Reeths-Puffer in the semifinal round, only managed five hits in the game and trailed 4-0 after five innings. Hunter Broersma hit a grand slam in the sixth to tie the game, but Kenowa Hills got the win and the title with a walk-off run in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Noah Dykstra pitched the entire game for the Sailors, scattering nine hits.
