Montague set for showdown with Shelby after downing Hesperia in Class C volleyball

The Montague volleyball team advanced to the Class C district finals with a victory over Hesperia on Wednesday LSJ Logo incertevening at Mason County Central.

The Wildcats swept the Panthers in three straight sets 25-18, 25-10 and 25-9.

Montague was led by Emma Flagstead with 11 kills while Robbie Berg added 14 digs and eight kills. Summer Garwood chipped in with 24 assists.

The Panthers were led by Mariah Stitt with seven digs, two kills, and one ace, Ceara Thomas with 10 assists and one ace and Delaney Hussey with five kills.

Hesperia finished its season with a 27-12-7 record, which is the most wins for the Panther volleyball team since 1992.
