Royals 10, Tigers 3 – The Kansas City Royals pounded the Tigers late in Friday night’s win to even the four-game set.

LSJ Logo incertThe Royals scored 10 unanswered runs with one in the sixth, four in the seven and five in the eighth inning.

The Tigers responded with three runs in the ninth on a solo home run by Miguel Cabrera and a two-run shot from Justin Upton.

Detroit’s rookie starting pitcher Michael Fulmer set a Tigers record, tossing 33 1/3 straight scoreless innings. He allowed one run on five hits while striking out five batters in 5 2/3 innings.Eye on the D

The Royals were led by Eric Hosmer, Salvador Perez and Kendrys Morales with three RBIs apiece.

The Tigers are now 34-33 on the season, good for third place in the American League Central Division behind the first-place Cleveland Indians.

Detroit will look to take the series lead over the Royals with a win on Saturday night.
