WMC rallies past Fruitport in a non-league boys soccer game


The Western Michigan Christian boys soccer team scored three second half goals in a two-minute span to overcome a halftime deficit to defeat Fruitport 4-3 in a non-league game on Tuesday.

LSJ Logo incertThe Warriors opened the scoring nine minutes into the contest on goal by Dyan Mines.

The Trojans responded with two goals from Zack Shane to give Fruitport a 2-1 lead at halftime.

WMC tied the score at 2-2 on a goal by Chance Larson, took a 3-2 lead on a Evan Fles score and grabbed a 4-2 advantage on a Tyler Van Beek goal.

Fruitport closed out the scoring on Shane’s hat-trick goal.

The Warriors outshot Fruitport by a 21-8 margin.
