Hart and Hesperia each win a game in its non-league softball doubleheader

The Hart and Hesperia softball squads split a non-league doubleheader on Friday.

The Pirates won the opening game 10-0, before falling in the nightcap to Hesperia by a 6-4 margin.

Nicole Rockwell led Hart in Game 1 with two doubles while Karla Ortega and Ali Altland each added two single apiece.

Altland picked up the win for the Pirates, tossing five scoreless innings while striking out 10 batters.

Hart was paced in Game 2 by Rockwell and Ortega with two hits each while Altland suffered the loss on the mound.

Altland allowed five hits while striking out nine in the nightcap.
