The Muskegon Catholic Central baseball team won two hard-fought games on Saturday to take home the Division 4 regional championship at Beal City.

The Crusaders beat previously defeated and No. 1-ranked Frankfort 2-1 in 10 innings to advance to the regional final. They edged Beal City 14-12 in the title game.

In the semifinal win, Cole Charlesworth hit a triple in the 10th inning and An Pham followed up with a double to score the winning run. Starter Devin Comes pitched 8 2/3 innings while striking out 10 and giving up five hits. Riley St. Amour came on in relief of Comes and picked up the win.

Offensively, Charlesworth led Muskegon Catholic with a double, a triple, a RBI and a run scored. Mason Convertini added a single and a double for the Crusaders.

In the final, St. Amour once again picked up the win on the mound while Duy Nguyen got the save. Avery Davis led the offense with a double and a 3-run home run while Hai Nguyen added two hits.

Muskegon Catholic will next face Portland St. Patrick in the Division 4 state quarterfinal at Saginaw Valley State University at noon on Tuesday.
