The Ravenna volleyball team finished 5-1 on the day at the Western Michigan Christian Warrior Showdown tournament on Saturday.

The Bulldogs defeated Kent City, Traverse City St. Francis twice, NorthPointe Christian, and St. Louis. They lost to Bronson in the final round of the invitational.

Amber Jacobs led the team in aces (11), blocks (15) and kills (50). Megan Crowley led Ravenna with 98 assists.

The Bulldogs are now 7-2-1 on the season. Their next game is at home against North Muskegon on August 30. 

Host Western Michigan Christian finished 2-3 in the tournament. The Warriors beat Holton and Kent City and lost Bronson, Laingsburg and St. Louis.

Meghan Heiss led the Warriors with nine aces. Madison Heiss had a team high 27 kills and Aubrey Goorman registered 20 blocks.

Holton went 0-4 on the day, losing to Bronson, WMC, St. Louis and a three-set match to Laingsburg.

Haylee Brant led the team with five aces and 15 assists. Kaylee Bates had 11 kills.
