The Whitecaps picked up yet another shutout victory on Saturday with a 5-0 victory at Lake County to open a five game series.

The shutout is the 22nd for West Michigan on the year, a franchise record and one behind the Midwest League record.

West Michigan is 74-33 on the year and 29-11 in the second half which puts the Whitecaps in first place of the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

Starting pitcher Eudis Idrogo picked up the win on Saturday, tossing six innings and surrendering four hits while striking out six. Relief pitcher John Schreiber came on and pitched the final three innings, allowing two hits and striking out three.

Derek Hill, Isaac Paredes, Anthony Pereira and Austin Athmann all led West Michigan with two hits on the night while Danny Pinero led with two RBIs.

West Michigan will play a doubleheader in Lake County on Sunday with the first game beginning at 5 p.m.
