The Fruitport girls bowling team opened the season with a victory over Kenowa Hills 28-2 on Monday night at Lincoln Lanes.

Rachel Pierce led the Trojans with a score of 471, Shelby Weaver scored 371 and River Jones finished with a 298.

The Fruitport boys team lost to Kenowa Hills 30-0.

Connor Hines led the Trojan boys with a score of 312. Evan Simons finished with a score of 261.

Muskegon boys and girls teams open with victories

The Muskegon boys bowling team kicked off its season with an 18-12 victory over Grand Rapids Union.

Leading the Big Reds were Anthony Brooks with a 353 and Mike Swonson with a 351.

The Big Red girls won their match over Union, 27-3. High scores for Muskegon were Latausha Massey with a 273 and Emya Oaks with a 269.

Orchard View boys start the season with a win

The Orchard View boys bowling team defeated Wellspring Prep 29-1 at West Gate Lanes on Monday night to start their season.

Brady Bowen led the Cardinals with a score of 224 while Don Johnson scored 198.
