An 8-2 run during the final three minutes of regulation propelled Western Michigan Christian over Ludington 48-41 on Friday in a Lakes 8 boys basketball game.

The Warriors, who led 19-15 at halftime, had a 10-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter before Ludington cut its deficit to 40-39 late in the stanza.

WMC closed out the game strong, nailing its free throws down the stretch to earn the win.

The Warriors were paced by Brant Zeerip with 15 points while Brandon Fles added 11.

The Orioles were led by Josh Laman with 15 points.

KENT CITY 69, HESPERIA 20 – The Eagles cruised to their 10th straight win to start the season. Kent City jumped out to a 26-7 lead after the first quarter and led 46-11 at halftime. Eli Carlson paced the Eagles with 16 points while Fraser Wilson added 12. The Panthers (2-7, 1-3) were led by Scott Peters with six points.

FREMONT 65, TRI-COUNTY 39 – The Packers led 22-18 at the half, then cruised during the second half to earn a victory. Wyatt Kaastra led Fremont (7-2, 6-1) with 12 points, while Riley Krim and Logan Karnemaat each added 10.

LAKEVIEW 59, HOLTON 43 – The Red Devils trailed 16-12 after the opening quarter, 31-20 at halftime and 43-28 through three quarters. Holton (3-6, 2-3) was paced by Dalton Giddings with 18 points while Nathan Slowik added nine.
