Muskegon Catholic boys basketball squad opens strong, defeats Algoma in districts

The Muskegon Catholic Central boys basketball squad knocked off Algoma Christian 51-37 on Monday in a Class D district quarterfinal game.

The Crusaders blanked their opponent 14-0 during the first quarter, led 25-12 at halftime and had a 45-21 advantage heading into the fourth quarter.

Jared Dugener stuffed the stat sheet for MCC with 18 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals, while Andre Watson II added seven points, five steals and four assists.

The Crusaders will host Fruitport Calvary Christian on Wednesday in the Class D district semifinals.
