Rough weather forced the Oakridge boys soccer team to settle for a 2-2 tie in its West Michigan Conference opener against Whitehall on Tuesday.

The Eagles jumped ahead of the Vikings with a corner-kick goal from Mason Wever midway through the first half. Bayley Ehren followed up with a goal off a free kick, giving Oakridge a 2-0 lead.

Oakridge let in a Whitehall goal just before halftime and allowed the Vikings to tie the score midway into the second half.

After a pair of lighting delays in the second half, the game was called.

The Eagles are now 2-0-2 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play.

SHELBY 2, RAVENNA 0 (Tuesday) – The Tigers (2-3, 1-0) opened WMC play with a shutout win over Ravenna. Luis Garcia and Alfredo Arreola each found the net for Shelby, while Chris Schugardt had two assists.

FREMONT 4, LAKEVIEW 1 (Friday) – Wyatt VanBoven led the offensive attack in Fremont’s CSAA opener with Lakeview. VanBoven tallied two goals and an assist for the Packers who are now 3-0 in league play and 3-1 overall. Preston Osterhart posted a goal and an assist while Ivan Coppola found the back of the net and Cole Miller added an assist. Goalie Joe Kortge made three saves in the win for Fremont.
