The Holton softball team won a Division 4 district championship on Saturday by beating White Cloud in the tournament semifinals and Pentwater in the finals at Kent City High School.

The Red Devils beat White Cloud 11-1. Kylie Gould had a strong game, earning the win on the mound by scattering three hits and striking out seven, while hitting a triple at the plate. Morgan Murat had four hits, including a home run; Kennedy Greene had four hits; Gianna Reed had three hits, including two doubles; while Haylee Brant and Madi Bossett each had two hits.

Holton won the district title with a 9-2 win over Pentwater in the finals. Gould pitched again and struck out 11, Brant had three hits, Murat had two hits (including a homer) and Kaylie Piper had two hits.

The Red Devils now move on to regional play next Saturday on their home field.
