The West Michigan Whitecaps won their third straight game with a 6-3 victory over Dayton on Thursday night.

In the first inning, the Whitecaps took a 4-0 lead when Andre Lipcius hit a two-run home run, Reynaldo Rivera singled home Nick Quintana and Parker Meadows scored Ulrich Bojarski on a sacrifice fly.

Vinny Esposito doubled home Meadows in the fourth inning to extend the Whitecaps lead to 5-0.

In the fifth inning the Whitecaps lead became 6-0 when Bojarski scored on a RBI single by Rivera.

Dayton scored one run in the eighth inning and two runs in the ninth inning to make the final score 6-3.

Bojarski led the Whitecaps with three hits and two runs scored while Christopher Proctor and Rivera each had two hits. Rivera added two RBIs on the night.

Whitecaps starting pitcher Adam Wolf picked up his third win of the season, scattering five hits and three walks over six innings of shutout work.

With the victory, the Whitecaps are 24-52 overall on the season and 3-4 in the second half, three games behind first place Lake County in the Midwest League Eastern Division second half standings.

The Whitecaps will look to sweep the four game series with Dayton on Friday with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
