Lauren Ross scored the 1,000th point of her career and paced the Reeths-Puffer girls basketball team to a 49-40 win on Friday over Greenville.

Ross led with 21 points, six rebounds and three assists.

Sophia Hekkema added nine points and four rebounds for Reeths-Puffer and Ariel Walker chipped in with eight points and three rebounds.

GRAND HAVEN 32, TRAVERSE CITY CENTRAL 27- The Bucs led 10-4 after the first quarter, 16-10 at halftime and 27-14 through three quarters.

The Trojans outscored Grand Haven 13-5 during the fourth quarter but failed to complete the comeback.

Caydee Constant led the Bucs with nine points, knocking down three three-pointers on the night. Molly Long added eight.

Zoe Spoelman and Avery Keefe cleaned up on the boards for Grand Haven with 10 and seven, respectively. Alyssa Hatzel and Morgan Goss were active on the defensive end with three steals a piece.

FRUITPORT CALVARY CHRISTIAN 75, MUSKEGON HEIGHTS 28– The Eagles were led by Kelsey Richards with 31 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. Lizzie Cammenga added 28 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Fruitport Calvary’s Kyra Hamilton and Cate Anhalt racked up 10 rebounds and nine rebounds, respectively.

The Eagles improved to 1-1 on the year while the Tigers fell to 0-2.

Fruitport Calvary Christian will take on Mason County Central at home on Monday night.

HOLLAND CHRISTIAN 60, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 37- The Warriors allowed 18 unanswered points to start the game, then was outscored by a 42-37 margin the rest of the way.

Kyla Wiersema led the Warriors with 18 points and eight rebounds.

WMC fell to 1-1 on the young season.

MONA SHORES 52, WEST OTTAWA 38- Brooke LeRoux led the Sailors with nine points and seven rebounds, while Riley Rosenthal added eight points.

Mona Shores was also paced by Brooklyn McLemore with seven points and 11 rebounds along with Bri Wade with seven points and eight rebounds.

The Sailors out-rebounded West Ottawa by a 46-24 margin.

Mona Shores is now 1-1 overall on the season.

FRUITPORT 39, ORCHARD VIEW 15– The Cardinals trailed 16-9 at halftime before getting outscored 23-6 during the second half.

Allison Tenhove led the Cardinals with eight points and 11 rebounds, while Mackenzie Filipiak added five points.

Orchard View falls to 0-2 on the season.
