Weekend wrestling roundup: Reeths-Puffer and Fremont each take second

The Reeths-Puffer wrestling team took home second place at the Grandville tournament on Saturday.

Rocket wrestlers who went undefeated were Alex Chapman (135), Thade Radosa (145), Jimmy Rozycki (152), Caleb McNeil (160), Colby Stephenson (189), and Hunter McCall (215).

FREMONT TAKES SECOND – The Fremont wrestling team finished runner-up at the Kent City Kick-off Classic invite on Saturday.

Fremont defeated East Grand Rapids 69-9, Belding 66-12 and Grand Rapids Catholic Central 66-18 in pool play.

In the championship round, Fremont defeated Kent City 56-14 before falling to Rockford 52-15.

Alex Gleason (135) and Cody Routley (112) each went undefeated for Fremont while RJ Thome (103), Gage Breuker (125), Matthew Halasinski (145), Jager Kibart (152), Trey Breuker (160/171), Chase Knudsen (171), Michael Romero (189), Kyler Kolk (189/215) and Cody Visscher (215/285) all medaled.
