Mona Shores cross country teams get strong individual performances in conference meet

The Mona Shores cross country teams squared off with new conference foes Holland, Wyoming and Zeeland East in an O-K Green jamboree on Wednesday.

The girls team picked up wins over Holland and Wyoming while losing to Zeeland West, bringing their record to 4-2.

The boys team suffered narrow losses to Holland and Zeeland West and topped Wyoming via forfeit, bringing its record to 2-4. 

Sophomore Robyn Hunt led the Sailor girls, finishing first with a time of 20:46. Also scored for the Mona Shores girls were Destiny Douglas (22:19, 7th), Cecilia Conrad (22:47, 8th), Audrey White (23:05, 11th) and Cienna Billingsley (24:29, 15th).

Jackson Helmer was the top boys runner for Mona Shores, finishing second overall with a time of 16:59. Other scorers for the Sailors were Caleb Branch (17:24, 7th), Aidan Kreps (18:29, 13th), Dakota Gudgell (19:47, 26th) and Will Parsekian (19:53, 27th).
